399€ Parece que tendrá el precio del Samyang 14mm 2.8.

"FR-readers Sunwook: “Hi Patrick. Samyang’s new lens released on last Thursday in Korea and I bought 12mm immediatly. Here’s some images taken with my Fuji X-E2 and Samyang 12mm. Mounted / Night shotat each aperture step(due to wind, long exposure looks blurred) / Random shots.”
Here are my thoughts..
Pros:
- Solid built.
- Very little distortion.
- Very good resolution.

Cons:
- Edge color aberration in many situation.
- Black hood with silver lens.
- Manual focus. I got some badly focused image. Need more experience!

FYI, I have uploaded earlier+additional images to flickr:

Note: This is not a review, but just a bunch of preliminary notes.

Couple of days ago, I received the Samyang 1:2.0 12mm NCS CS lens for Fuji X mount. For less than 400€ delivered I considered it worth checking out, at least until prices for the Fuji 10-24 zoom decrease or other alternatives pop up. This is one of the new Samyang designs created specifically for mirrorless cameras. Samyang lenses are also marketed with Rokinon and Bower brand names and they generally have a reputation of being a very good value with good sharpness for the price. All Samyang lenses (to my knowledge) are manual focus. As this is a very new release and not much information about this lens is available, I thought I'd write down some of my findings publicly.

Last evening was nice and sunny, so I went out to test it out a bit with my Fujifilm X-E2. Here are some quick shots I took: https://www.flickr.com/photos/crwl/sets/72157644839345113/

These were shot RAW, converted to DNG with Adobe DNG converter and then edited with Lightroom 4.4. Some of them have been cropped a bit. I made no attempts to fix vignetting, barrel distortion or chromatic aberrations in post. Most shots were taken at f/5.6 ... f/8 except for those with obviously short DOF, those are all f/2.0 ... f/2.8.

As there are no electronic contacts in the lens, no aperture information is shown in viewfinder nor saved in EXIF data, and the aperture also stops instantly when turning the ring. Not having selected aperture shown in viewfinder is especially a bit of a bummer, though shooting with the lens stopped down even to f/11 does not seem to cause no problems with the EVF at least when it's sunny. The aperture ring has decent clicks at half-stop increments from f/2.0 to f/22.

Focusing ring is really stiff which is not too nice when switching between close and infinity focus. I seemed to get used to it quite quickly though. At least focus does not accidentally move. In this lens, the infinity mark seems to be quite exactly where it actually is, unlike in my 14mm Samyang f/2.8 which I had for Nikon D700 for some time. The focus point does move beyond infinity however. Focus ring moves the wrong way if you are used to the Pentax/Nikon way, but old Canon or Sigma users are at home with this. Manual focusing with EVF and focus peaking is about 100x nicer than it was with the 14mm Samyang on D700 (especially with the infinity mark at totally wrong place in my copy), but it still seems to be a bit tricky to hit the infinity correctly especially with the aperture wide open. I have not bothered much with manual focusing with my X-E2 before so there is obviously some learning for me to do too.

The lens seems to exhibit quite steep field curvature and I'm not yet quite sure if a reasonably sharp image can be attained from corner to corner at least with f/2.0 or f/2.8. You can get the center part or the corners sharp, but probably not both at the same time. I need to do some more shooting and practicing with the manual focus to confirm this, especially in dark when these apertures are necessary. I feel that the Samyang 14/2.8 for full frame was sharper corner-to-corner, but then again my D700 had only 12 megapixels. Maybe I'm starting to get old enough to not worry about pixel peeping...

Vignetting at f/2.0 seems to be pretty hefty. Given the relatively large aperture for such a wide angle lens, some pretty nice DoF effects can be achieved, as seen in some of the pictures linked above. The lens can also focus quite close, at 0.2m. In these shallow DoF cases the vignetting doesn't hurt as much, but I need to do some tests with cityscapes at night to see how the lens performs there with wide apertures regarding vignetting and sharpness.

The lens is really quite small and appears well built. It weighs 260 grams and is only a bit larger than the Fujinon 35/1.4, for example. The lens hood is good, it fits easily and can be turned inside out on the barrel for storage, but the cap is a bit flimsy and did fall out a couple of times already. This lens takes 67mm filters, unlike the Samyang 14mm which had no filter mount at all.

I have not used the Fujinon 14mm or 10-24mm so I can't compare with those, but if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

http://www.lenstip.com/index.php?test=obiektywu&test_ob=404
